2021 Annual Progress Reports

On September 10, 2014, the Cook County Board of Commissioners adopted the first-ever Cook County Multi-Jurisdictional All Hazards Mitigation Plan (HMP) making it the largest plan of its kind within the U.S. with 115 planning partners. To reduce the impact of a critical incident on the lives, property and economy of those that live in, work in and visit the county, the plan identified the risks of natural hazards facing Cook County and established action items and activities to mitigate those hazards.

For continued success, and to ensure that the program remains in compliance with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Cook County Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security (EMRS) has established a plan maintenance strategy to ensure that HMP Planning Partners complete actions items and activities identified in their annex through annual progress reporting.
